Jasmin Bhasin suffered corneal damage after wearing contact lenses. Here’s what we should and shouldn’t do to keep our eyes safe.
Jasmin Bhasin suffered corneal damage after attending an event in Delhi and had to wear contact lenses. The actress, who was in Delhi for work, wore the contact lenses and started feeling pain. However, she did not want to postpone her work commitments and hence wore sunglasses for the event.
However, after some time Jasmin couldn’t see anything and had to seek help from her team. Later in the night, when she visited an eye specialist for a check-up, she was diagnosed with corneal damage and the specialist patched up her eyes. Jasmin, 34, will take at least four to five days to recover. As of now, she is unable to see properly. On Sunday afternoon, she shared an update on Instagram, “Better now and recovering. Thank you for your love and blessings.”
Corneal damage can be a frightening affair. Jasmine’s situation brings to our mind the things we should follow while wearing contact lenses. See here:
Maintain good hygiene:
We should always remember to wash our hands thoroughly before wearing or removing contact lenses. We should never sleep wearing contact lenses.
Wash with contact lens solution:
After removing contact lenses, we must make sure to wash them with contact lens solution. We should always remember to change the contact lens solution daily, even when we are not using contact lenses.
Wear contact lenses before makeup:
Makeup enthusiasts are advised to wear contact lenses before applying makeup and remove contact lenses only after removing makeup. We should keep in mind that we should never apply glitter or eyeliner on the inner edge of the eyes.
Clean contact lenses with warm water:
We should wash our contact lenses with warm water weekly and replace them with new lenses every three months.
Do not wear more:
We should wear only the number of lenses that are recommended by the eye specialist. We should also keep a pair of glasses with us so that we can use them when we need to remove the contact lens.
In case of burning sensation in the eyes:
We should ensure that we never wear contact lenses when our eyes appear irritated or red. If there is redness as well as blurred vision in the eyes after wearing contact lenses, we should immediately consult a doctor.
