Addressing the effect of junk food on the liver, Dr. Ruchika Jain said, “Recent studies have found that eating fast food is associated with nonclolic fatty liver disease, a potentially life-threatening condition in which fat is made in the liver. The risk to develop non-alcohol fatty liver disease can be the most for people with obesity and diabetes.”
How junk food affects the liver:
Non-alcohol fatty liver disease: Chinese breaks into glucose that is used by cells for energy. Excess sugar or glucose is converted into fat and stored in the liver, but over time, liver cells are replaced with fat cells that no longer detoxication and eventually leads to non-alcohol fatty liver disease (NAFLD). If not treated over time, the disease is converted into cirrhosis/fibrosis and finally liver failure and cancer. Grade 2 fatty liver is usually seen with predeebitic conditions at the beginning of 30.

Liver fibrosis: Commercial beverages such as aerated drinks, pack juices, energy drinks, etc. are loaded with sugars which are converted into fat which leads to NAFLD. Very high salt causes many changes in liver cells as it increases oxidative stress. Research has found that high salt consumption can induce liver fibrosis, which is a construction of collagen in liver cells. The worst, it is difficult to reverse liver damage inspired by junk food.
