RML Hospital advisory on air pollution: Due to increasing pollution level in Delhi, crowding in hospitals has started increasing. People are coming to the OPD of hospitals with problems ranging from respiratory to skin, eye and mental health. In view of the increasing number of patients, a special clinic has also been opened in RML Hospital for the treatment of pollution-related diseases. Besides, advisory has also been issued for the people, so that people can stay healthy in this poisonous air by staying at home and they do not have to fall prey to diseases.

What does the advisory say?

People who already have lung disease can suffer from serious illness due to exposure to polluted air. Breathing polluted air for a long time can trigger respiratory problems even in normal people. Therefore prevention is very important.

Who is at greater risk?

elderly
children under 5 years of age
People suffering from chronic diseases like respiratory, heart etc.
People who spend a lot of time outside due to their occupation, such as rickshaw pullers, autorickshaw drivers, street vendors, etc.

What to do

Leave the house only when necessary. Whenever you go out, wear an N-95 mask only. Ordinary cloth masks are not effective in protecting from pollution, so do not wear them.

People suffering from respiratory, lung or heart diseases should take their medicines regularly and get vaccinated as per the doctor’s advice.

Use clean smokeless gas or electricity for cooking and heating.

Use public transport as much as possible. So that you can contribute in reducing pollution in the environment.

what not to do

Do not leave the house unnecessarily.

Do not go to places with heavy traffic or construction sites. The dust flying there can make you sick.

Do not go out for running, walking or any physical exercise before sunrise and after sunset.

Do not open doors and windows when pollution is high.

Do not smoke or consume tobacco products.
