Here the question arises whether it is a profitable deal to book the entire coach of the train for the wedding procession or the coach seats. There is a huge difference between the two bookings, you will be shocked to know this.
According to Indian Railways, when you book a seat in the train, the Railways only charges you the fare and does not charge any other charges. But if you book the entire coach or train, then you have to pay various charges, which is quite expensive. In this regard, railway experts say that compared to booking a seat, you have to pay almost three times more for booking an entire coach. Therefore, it is cheaper to book separate seats.
Booking a seat is cheap but this is the problem
It is cheaper to book seats as compared to coach but one problem arises that not more than six tickets can be booked in one PNR. Therefore, separate tickets will have to be booked. In this, seats can also be found in different coaches, even if you have 12 people standing in line for all 72 seats. Because ticket booking is going on simultaneously off-line and online.
This charge will have to be paid to book the coach
Booking of the coach or entire train is done at Full Tariff Rate (FTR). In this, a security of Rs 50 thousand per coach has to be deposited. The fare will have to be paid from the start of the journey till the final destination. 30 percent service charge for commuting is also to be paid. The journey should be at least 200 km. If the coach is stopped, its charges will have to be paid separately. Along with this, five percent GST charge will have to be paid for booking AC and first coach. If a coach is fitted in a superfast train, then superfast charge will be included. If you book the entire train, then engine stopping charges also have to be paid. In this way it becomes quite expensive.
Booking Rules
Coach or train can be booked through IRCTC at the regional or head office. Levy charges of 5 percent of the total booking have to be paid. Booking can be done at least one month in advance and maximum six months after the date.
