New Delhi. German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz’s sales in India grew nine per cent to 9,262 units in the first half of 2024. This growth was recorded on the back of strong demand across categories and availability of a large number of models. According to the company statement, this was its highest sales half year ever in the country. It sold 8,528 units in the January-June period of 2023. Mercedes-Benz India said in a statement that it plans to introduce six new products in the second half of 2024.
Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mercedes-Benz India, said, “We have recorded our best ever half year (first half) sales on the back of new and updated products, improved customer experience in the retail sector as well as positive customer sentiments.”

will introduce new products
Mercedes Benz India has said in a statement that it plans to introduce new products in the second half of 2024. In the first 6 months of 2024, SUVs accounted for 55 percent of the company’s total sales. At the same time, the share of top end vehicles was 25 percent. GLA, GLC, GLE, and GLS performed well in the SUV segment.
Rise in battery electric vehicles
The company has said that its electric vehicle portfolio has grown by 60 percent in the first half. The share of this segment in its total sales is 5 percent. The CEO of the company has said that new products will be launched in the market for the next festive season and the company will end the year with double digit growth.
