New Delhi. After coming into adolescence and becoming an adult, everyone is crazy about the first kiss of their life. Choosing a life partner of your choice and having the first kiss with him is a special moment for everyone. However, if we talk about India’s special friendly country Japan, there is not much enthusiasm among the youth about the first kiss. A recent survey conducted on high school students in the East-Asian country of Japan has found that four out of five teenage boys have not yet experienced this moment. Which shows that there is not much room for romance in his life.
It is also important to know here that Japan is already struggling with the decreasing population in the country. The youth here are not much interested in having children. The Japanese government is motivating the youth to have more and more children. According to the South China Morning Post, Takuma, an 18-year-old Japanese woman, believes that Japanese boys are victims of ‘skinship’, a practice that emphasizes emotional attachment. It was told that Japanese boys hesitate in kissing due to lack of skinship.
How much did Kiss’s figures decrease?
The sentiments expressed by teenagers interviewed by Week in Asia reflect research released on November 3 by the Japan Association for Sex Education. Which revealed that only 22.8 percent of high school boys aged 15 to 18 have had their first kiss, which is much less than 33.9 percent in the previous study conducted in 2017. If we talk about Japanese girls, 27.5 percent have admitted to having their first kiss. Six years ago this figure was slightly less than 41.1 percent.
What do Japanese youth think?
A 14-year-old boy named Yoshihisa told that he has not kissed any girl because he shy away from romance. Itsuki, 15, said many boys have become vegetarians, showing little interest in traditional masculine roles, including romantic relationships. A 19-year-old youth told Week in Asia that I do not need a girlfriend right now and many boys like me think the same.
