Ayush Jaiswal, a resident of Motihari, Bihar, was staying at a paying guest house near Samrat Chowk in Mahavir Nagar area to prepare for competitive exams.
A 17-year-old youth, preparing for the IIT-JEE competitive exam, committed suicide by hanging himself in his room in Rajasthan’s Kota city, police said on Sunday.
Ayush Jaiswal, a resident of Motihari, Bihar, was living in a paying guest house near Samrat Chowk in Mahavir Nagar area to prepare for competitive examination.
When he did not come out of his room till Saturday night, his friends informed the owner of the paying guest house, police said.
Mahavir Nagar SHO Mahendra Maru said, “A boy preparing for competitive exams committed suicide on Saturday night. He was found hanging in his room. No suicide note has been recovered yet. The post-mortem will be conducted after his family members reach here.”
He said that when the student did not open the door, the owner of the paying guest house informed the police.
On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and broke the door lock and found the student hanging from the noose.
The police brought him down and took him to New Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
