Airport News: This young man, standing with his head bowed at the Bureau of Immigration counter, was deported and sent to Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. During investigation, the Canadian visa on his passport was found to be fake and this was also confirmed by the liaison officer of Canada Border Service Agency. After which, this young man was handed over to the IGI Airport Police.
According to DCP Usha Rangnani, the accused youth has been identified as Karaminder Singh. He is originally from Darpur village of Gurdaspur (Punjab). On the complaint of the Bureau of Immigration, Karaminder has been arrested under the Indian Justice Code and Passport Act. At the same time, a team was formed under the leadership of IGIA SHO Inspector Vijendra Singh to investigate the matter.
During interrogation, Karaminder told that he got the number of an agent named Jagjit Singh through the internet. Jagjit had to provide him visa for Canada and Vietnam in exchange of Rs 24 lakh. As per the deal, Karaminder made the first payment of Rs 10 lakh to Jagjit Singh. After this, on the instructions of Jagjit, he gave Rs 14 lakh to another agent named Gurnam Singh.

On June 28, he left for Vietnam from IGI Airport. While trying to go to Canada from Vietnam, he was caught and deported to Delhi’s IGI Airport. Based on this revelation, the IGI Airport Police started looking for Jagjit Singh and Gurnam. After a long effort, Gurnam was arrested from Gurdaspur in Punjab.
During interrogation, accused Gurnam told that he had met Jagjit a few years ago. After which, he along with Jagjit started duping people in the name of sending them abroad. In this case, he had helped Jagjit in arranging fake Canadian visa. Also, he had taken 14 lakh rupees from Karaminder and delivered it to Jagjit. In return, he got 4 lakh rupees as commission.

DCP Usha Rangnani said that recently the accused agent Jagjit Singh alias Jaggi was arrested in a similar case of fraud. Since then he is imprisoned in judicial custody in Tihar Jail. In this case, a separate case has been registered against Jagjit Singh and he has been arrested once again. The investigation of the case is currently underway.
