The Supreme Court has once again postponed the hearing of the NEET PG 2024 result transparency case. During the hearing before the bench of Justices BR Gavai and AG Masih, senior advocate Sanjay Hegde mentioned the urgency of the third round of NEET-PG counseling and requested for an early hearing.

“Just ask someone to mention this matter to you tomorrow. Once the counseling is completed, the matter will be settled. It is not that we will order fresh counselling,” he said.
What is NEET PG result controversy?
The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET PG 2024) was conducted on August 11, 2024, across 416 examination centres, in which 2,28,540 candidates were registered. Following the introduction of a new normalization process by NBE, many candidates scored lower than expected, leading to disappointment and concerns over result transparency.
After the results were declared on August 23, 2024, students alleged lack of transparency in the examination process and raised questions on the conduct of the National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS).

Despite several requests, NBE refused to release the answer keys, raw marks and normalized scores, citing confidentiality as the cornerstone of its admission policy.
When there was no solution from the authorities, the students took the matter to the Supreme Court. The preliminary writ petition seeks disclosure of the answer keys and question papers for the NEET-PG 2024 exam along with other measures to increase transparency.
