Nilesh was an ordinary student since childhood. He started his education in a local primary school in his village and studied there till class 8.
Union Public Service Commission recently announced the results of UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023. As soon as the results were announced, there was joy in Ichhapur village of Madhya Pradesh. A 24 year old boy from the village passed the country’s toughest examination. The boy lived in a two-room house with an asbestos roof. But despite all the struggles, he focused on his studies and successfully passed the examination. Today he is an inspiration for the students and candidates of his village.
Nilesh Ahirwar has secured 916th rank in the Civil Services Examination. Talking about his parents, he said that his father Ramdas worked as a mason in the village while his mother was a housewife. Nilesh belonged to a poor family of Madhya Pradesh. Nilesh passed the exam with very limited resources available.
Nilesh was an ordinary student since childhood. He started his education in a local primary school in his village and studied there till class 8. In class 9, he was admitted to Model Higher Secondary School, Tawa Nagar. After completing his intermediate studies, he did B.Tech in Agriculture from Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya University, Chitrakoot.
After completing B.Tech, Nilesh returned to his village and started preparing for UPSC exam. He mentioned that since he and his family lived in a two-room house it was difficult for him to concentrate. To solve the problem he converted the kitchen into a makeshift study area. Despite the scorching heat, he remained dedicated to his studies.
Despite his hard work, he failed to qualify the UPSC preliminary exam in the year 2021 and 2022. After two consecutive failures, Nilesh decided to go to Bhopal to take coaching for better preparation. He went to Delhi for the main examination. He stayed for three months and devoted all his time to his preparations. His efforts bore fruit and he passed the exam with a rank of 916 in the third attempt.
