Hyderabad: The city of Hyderabad is famous all over the world for its culture and history. It was named ‘Elephant Jhad’ because its stem is thick and curved like the elephant’s leg. There is so much place inside the trunk of this tree, 25 meters that 40 people can comfortably merge in it.

Declared a ‘protected monument’ of national importance
The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has kept this tree very well. Guide here S. Kumar says that ASI has installed iron fences around it. This tree is present in the Hyderabad Golf Club. A few years ago, environmental workers demanded security and some local people also complained about the damage happening with it. Keeping all these things in mind, ASI has declared it a ‘protected monument’ of national importance.

This tree was planted by African traveler
