Declared a ‘protected monument’ of national importance
The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has kept this tree very well. Guide here S. Kumar says that ASI has installed iron fences around it. This tree is present in the Hyderabad Golf Club. A few years ago, environmental workers demanded security and some local people also complained about the damage happening with it. Keeping all these things in mind, ASI has declared it a ‘protected monument’ of national importance.

This tree was planted by African traveler

Some people believe that this tree was planted by an African traveler, but there is no evidence. The history of this tree still remains a mystery.
