Take a second – what brush did you use this morning? A paddle, round, pork bristle, perhaps just your fingers? Believe it or not, that simple choice can make or break your hair health. After all, managing your trace is much higher than just shampoo and conditioning them!
Bollywood’s popular hair designer Darshan Yavlekar says, “It is all about choosing the right hairstyle,” “A good brush can help shut down your cuticles, styles hair and maintain its healthy shaft,” connects a person behind Ranveer Singh’s ‘Khilji’ look.
For more than 20 years, Darshan has shaped the famous superstars hairstyles such as Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Jaideep Ahlawat, Vicky Kaushal, Ananya Pandey and the list.
We asked him if a wrong hairbrush could harm your hair, he says, “A wrong hairbush can damage your hair and break too much, especially depending on how you brush it. It can also make a lot of fries in your hair”
Most importantly, it is also important to use the right hairbrush according to your hair type. Darshan revealed that your hairbrush should be chosen according to your hair type.
Fine, thick, long, or thin hair: If you have any type of these types, go for a paddle brush, either a big or a small. Depending on the style of the haircut, a hairstylist may recommend the right size of a round brush to help you achieve your desired look.
Curly hair: If you have curly hair types, you can’t just use any hairbrush. Darshan shared an expert tip: “Just after a shower, when the hair is completely wet, you should comb it using a wide right comb, starts from the end and grows to the middle-length. If it is completely entangled, you can use a detailing brash to work through the middle-length and ends.”
Straight hair: The best friend of your hair should be a paddle brush. If your hair breaks easily, it is a good idea to consult a doctor whether there is an inherent issue. Any serious concerns should be tested by a dermatologist. He said, even breakable hair can often be managed with paddle brushes.
Is there a universal brush that works for all types of hair?
Darshan says the paddle brush is a winner. However, he recommends not removing lumps from dry hair. So, it is better to remove lumps when your hair is slightly moist. He emphasizes the implementation of a leave-in conditioner, making it very easy.
When talking about curly or coilly hair, he says that this type of hair can be difficult to brush, but the crux is that after the shower, such hair types should be brushed from the end, and slowly remove all the knots before.
Hair brushing mistakes
Darshan revealed that one of the biggest mistakes of the people is starting from the roots. If your hair is entangled in the middle and ends, you will only make the lumps difficult to remove. So always follow the correct order and use a wide tooth comb to brush curly hair.
Although these tips can reduce hair loss and give you a healthy looking skull, it is advisable to keep themselves hydrated and eat nutrition-rich diet.
So, the next time you are ordering online, or walking through the mall, buy your hairbrush looking at your hair type.
