To celebrate this occasion Dwitiya Tithi must be celebrated. As a result, it is celebrated on the day of Rangwali Holi or the day after, depending on the day of Holika Dahan. Significance of Holi Bhai Dooj

Holi Bhai Dooj has religious significance for Hindus. This festival strengthens the relationship between brother and sister. It is celebrated on the second day of Krishna Paksha of Chaitra month. This festival is celebrated on the next day of Holi. It is also known as Bhratri Dwitiya. In many places, Holi Bhai Dooj is a much-awaited festival celebrated after Rangwali Holi or on the next day of Holi Dahan.

Despite their busy schedules, the brothers and sisters make time for each other during the event. Sisters apply tilak on the forehead of their brothers as a prayer for their well-being and perform aarti. In return, brothers bless their sisters and pray for their well-being.

Holi Bhai Dooj 2024: Puja Rituals

1. People wake up in the morning and take bath.

2. Keeping the puja room and home clean.

3. Prepare special dishes other than sweets like halwa and kheer.

4. Sisters prepare thali with sweets, earthen lamps, whole rice, roli and mauli.

5. Sisters apply tilak of unbroken rice and roli on the forehead of their brothers. They perform aarti and also light an earthen lamp.

6. They take mauli and tie it on the wrists of their brothers.

7. They take some sweets and give them to their brothers.

8. Brothers and sisters exchange gifts to express their love for each other.

9. Women without brothers can worship Moon God by offering Arghya, sweets and other gifts.
