Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta, who turned 53 on November 7, once revealed the secrets of her curvy figure and attractive hair.

Rituparna Sengupta celebrated her 53rd birthday on Thursday. The Bengali actor, who starred opposite Rajpal Yadav in the 2005 Bollywood film Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh, is known for her glowing skin and long, beautiful hair. In a 2014 interview with The Hindu, the Bengali beauty, who is a mother of two, was asked to share her ‘tips on how to maintain her attractive looks and toned figure’. Rituparna believes in light exercise, portion control

Unlike her Bollywood contemporaries, Rituparna said she does not believe in high-intensity workouts or ‘zero figure’. He also threw light on his fitness regime.

Rituparna said, “Zero figure looks anorexic. What’s more it deprives your body of essential nutrients and hence as you age, you have to face irreversible problems… I start my day with a glass of warm water with a few drops of lemon. I do it with you. I eat flax seeds before my workout… I do light exercise which includes yoga, Suryanamaskar and weight training, followed by breakfast with some fruits or boiled vegetables and a glass of pineapple or pomegranate juice.’ ‘

He loves to eat Bengali food

The actor said she doesn’t stop herself from enjoying rich Bengali food as she ‘loves food’. To stay healthy, ‘you should know what to eat and what not’, Rituparna said, adding that she eats everything – like fish curry, dal and vegetables – ‘but in small portions’.

‘The credit for the eyes goes to the fish’

When asked about her ‘beautiful eyes and beautiful hair’, Rituparna said, “When I was young, my mother used to put an egg on my head for protein. In Bengal, mothers take special care of their daughters. They apply all kinds of oil on their heads. The credit for eyes goes to fish. There is a lot of phosphorus in fish and I think it’s magic.
