Azamgarh: People are currently considering electric vehicles as a cheap way to travel somewhere, but buying an electric vehicle is expensive. Due to pollution and other reasons, governments are also promoting electric vehicles. The price of electric vehicles is still very high, due to which many people are not buying them. In such a situation, governments keep coming up with various schemes and subsidy schemes to ensure that more people buy electric vehicles. In Azamgarh too, many segments of electric vehicles are getting various types of subsidies under government schemes.

Subsidy of Rs 50 thousand on electric three wheeler
Mahindra commercial vehicles are also getting the benefit of this government scheme in Azamgarh. This government scheme can be availed on commercial three wheeler vehicles in Mahindra showrooms located in the city. Under this, subsidy of up to Rs 50,000 is being given on electric vehicles. PM e-Drive scheme is being operated by the Ministry of Heavy Industry. In this, subsidy is being given by the government on electric vehicles. This also includes electric two wheelers, three wheelers and commercial buses.

Azamgarh Mahindra Commercial Showroom Manager Prem Dubey said that here Mahindra’s Zor Grand, which is a heavy duty three wheeler vehicle, has a subsidy of ₹ 50 thousand available from the government. Talking about the features of the vehicle, a heavy duty motor with a capacity of 16 kilo watts has been installed in it, due to which it can be an excellent option for performing heavy duty. Talking about the price of the car, he said that the on-road price of this car is around Rs 4 lakh in which government subsidy is included.

Charging infrastructure will be better under PM Drive scheme
Under the Pradhan Mantri Drive Yojana, the government is working on the operation of electric vehicles and its related infrastructure. The broad objective of this scheme is to strengthen the charging infrastructure across the country so that electric vehicles can run easily on more and more roads. To strengthen the charging infrastructure, charging stations will be built at various places.
