India, January 19, 2024: GoPurple (formerly Purple Farms), Ahmedabad-based agri-tech startup has secured $180,000 in pre-seed funding. These funds will be instrumental in launching their flagship indoor fogponics farm and R&D center in Ahmedabad to advance their indoor cultivation technology along with the development of crops and seeds suitable for growing in soil-less environments. The funding round, led by Aarti Ganesh of Sribala Consulting, is facilitated by Redbricks Partners, a boutique consultancy firm providing IB and venture building services to startups and MSMEs.
Aarti Ganesh will also join the board of GoPurple’s parent company. His experience in the field of agriculture, including the team he led to launch the export and retail operations of fresh agricultural produce at Namdhari Fresh, will be instrumental in the further research and development of GoPurple’s smart indoor farming technology .
A division of GreenGo Agro Technologies, GoPurple was founded with a vision to transform indoor farming by using the latest technology in CEA (Controlled Environment Agriculture) farming. Over the past five years, the company has focused on researching and manufacturing soilless farming systems. Starting with aeroponics in 2018, they progressed through five generations of soilless farming systems and now lead the world by using their patent-pending fogponics technology to grow crops without the use of any herbicides or pesticides. The first commercial smart indoor farms have been created.
With a market launch scheduled for the second quarter of 2024, GoPurple has now transformed itself into a leader in smart indoor vertical farming technology, which uses fogponics to cultivate efficient, sustainable and cost-effective crops. The company also plans to provide a wide range of services, including D2C produce sales, farming as a service for large-scale orders, Purple Partners program for those interested in starting their own soilless farms A franchise/subscription option is included. Soil-less crops and seeds for other hydroponic farms, and sales of technology to existing farms looking to upgrade.
