Child thinness? Experts reveal the most effective treatments that actually work!
When discussing hair growth and remedies, it is necessary to make the first difference between real hair loss and temporary hair excuse. Identifying the root cause helps in choosing the most effective treatment.
In an interview with HT lifestyle, Dr. Kashish Kalra, MBBS, MD, Dermatologist, Hair Transplant Surgeon, HOD in Max Hospital and Dr. The founder of the Kalra Skin Clinic shared that the treatment of hair loss can be classified into three main approaches:
1. Medications for the treatment of hair loss
Many drugs have been proven to work clinically in the treatment of hair loss. The most commonly used includes:
- minoxidil – A topical solution that stimulates hair follicles and promotes hair regroth.
- Finasteride – An oral drug that helps prevent hair loss by blocking DHT (dihydrotestosterone), a hormone connected to the thin of hair.
- Peptide -based treatment – Peptides such as capxils and radensils obtained from plant extracts are emerging as promising alternatives for hair collapse control. While research on these ingredients is still ongoing, they have shown positive results in reducing acute hair fall and strengthening hair strands.

2. Regenerative procedures for hair growth
Rejuvenile treatment helps to improve natural hair growth by improving follicular health and increasing the condition of the skull. This includes:
- Mesotherapy – This involves injecting a combination of vitamins, minerals and amino acids in the skull using microning or fine needles. It improves follicular nutrition and promotes hair density.
- PRP (platelet-rich plasma) – A procedure where platelets are extracted from the patient’s own blood, focused, and then injected into the skull. PRP hair follicles stimulate regeneration, which improves hair density about 20–30%. However, this treatment requires several sessions for visual results.
- GFC (Development Faculty) Similar to PRP, GFC is a platelet-specific treatment that increases hair growth by stimulating follicular activity. It works through the same mechanism in the form of PRP, but may have more concentrated effects.
- AMT (Autologous micrograpping technique) – This includes removing stem cells and growth factors from the patient’s own hair Rome (usually from the back of the skull) and re -presenting them in thin areas. Unlike PRP or GFC, AMT usually requires only one session for noticeable improvement.
- Exosome therapy -The state-of-the-art treatment that contains injections of DNA-type exosomes through microndling. These exosomes help regulate the hair growth cycle, promoting healthy and strong hair. Like PRP and GFC, several sessions may be necessary for optimal results.

3. Surgical option for hair restoration
For individuals that experience advanced hair loss, where non-surgical treatment is ineffective, a hair transplant is the most reliable option. Hair transplantation involves transferring hair or hair follicles from a donor area (usually behind the scalp).
In cases where hair transplantation is not suitable, alternative camouflage methods such as hair patches or scalp micropygmentation can provide cosmetic solutions.
