Fitness coaches Urjitha and Nathan Johnson explain the main reasons why belly fat feels like a stubborn fat to lose.

Potbelly is common among Indians. Belly fat protrudes from the abdomen, especially around the abdomen, and appears to have a prominent bulge. It looks almost balloon-like and is usually firmer than regular belly fat. It contains visceral fat, so it gets stored deep in the body, making weight loss a challenge.

You may feel stubborn in reducing belly fat but don’t give up.

Oorjitha, Indian Fast Loss Coach (@fitwithoorjitha) and Nathan Johnson (nathan.autonomy) shared on Instagram how difficult it is to lose the ‘South Asian belly’ despite working out. Despite working out, it feels like the weight is not reducing. Fitness trainers shared the main reason for not losing belly fat despite working out.

Why is it difficult to reduce belly fat?

No matter how much you work out or diet, belly fat can seem stubborn. Many people get disappointed and even give up. Turns out, it’s an illusion. The fitness coach explains, “Even if you think you’re eating in smaller portions due to the density of your South Asian belly, when you lose weight, you’ll notice it coming off your face and arms before your belly.” Which can harm you. Feel like you’re not making progress.” Fat in the abdomen has a higher density, so it takes longer to burn than other parts of the body, making changes less noticeable at first. To see results Patience and being consistent is absolutely important.

Trainers point out two important aspects, a high-calorie diet and elevated stress levels, both of which contribute to belly fat. Most Indians consume a high-calorie diet, often with excessive carbohydrate content, such as rice or roti. Stress management is equally important, as stress can lead to overeating or emotional eating as a way to cope. By addressing these, belly fat can be reduced.
