Actor Fardeen Khan took to Instagram to share his experience of shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. The film is streaming on Netflix. The actor shared a video in which he revealed the first scene he shot for the web series. Fardeen’s first scene
Fardeen shared a video in which his character Wali Bin Zayed-Al Mohammed is seen having fun with Aditi Rao Hydari’s character Bibbohjaan while playing cards in bed. Sharing it, he called the experience ‘memorable’ and ‘exciting’.
He wrote, “This was the first scene I shot for Heeramandi and the first time I was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. It was a memorable and exciting experience. Known for his meticulous attention to detail and grand sets, SLB sir creates an atmosphere that is both intense and inspiring. The set was like a visual masterpiece, with intricate designs, elaborate costumes and a clear sense of history and drama.”
She also added that shooting for the series was a learning experience, adding that she felt a ‘deep sense of accomplishment’ at the end of it all. She wrote, “As I stepped onto the set, I felt a heady mix of excitement and nervousness. SLB’s reputation for demanding excellence pushes you to do your best. His guidance is both precise and passionate, encouraging you to delve deeper into your character and bring out the nuances that make his films and scenes so captivating.”
He also added, “It was an enriching learning experience, as he shared his vision and helped me understand the emotional depth of the scene. By the end of the shoot you feel a deep sense of accomplishment, knowing that you have contributed to something truly special under the direction of a maestro of cinema.”
About the Constitution
Heera Mandi tells the story of prostitutes in Lahore’s Heera Mandi during the British Raj. Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Segal Mehta and Taha Shah Badusha play lead roles in the series, which received mixed reviews.
