“The commission of this heinous massacre by Israeli occupation forces is a challenge to all international legitimacy resolutions,” the Palestinian presidency said in a statement.

The United Nations Palestinian refugee agency (UNRWA) said in a post on X that the images from Rafah were further proof that Gaza was “hell on earth”.

Senior Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri described the attack as a “massacre” and blamed the United States for providing arms and funding to Israel.

Israel’s senior military prosecutor, Major General Yifat Tomer Yerushalmi, condemned the incident as “very serious” and announced an investigation into the horrific incident. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged that it was a “tragic mistake”.

Did American actress Candice King react to the Rafa tragedy?

Meanwhile, journalist Suleiman Ahmed posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) that has gone viral on the platform, with over 1.7 million views. The video is captioned, “Actress Candice King condemns the Rafah massacre and beheaded children. Beheaded children should set the tone for all of us.”

However, the woman in the video is not actress Candice King. She is South African travel influencer Candice King, who frequently posts pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel content on Instagram.

In his latest video posted on Instagram and shared by Ahmed on X, he expressed anger at the tragedy that happened in Rafah, saying “Baby! Baby! What happened to you?”

She clarified that she was not condemning the Israeli government, but rather questioning those who “are still silent”. She claimed that “there are pictures of beheaded children in Rafah. Beheaded children should set the tone for all of us.”

In her angry video, the influencer added that “And if that hasn’t drawn the line for you, then you… You’re cooked. You’re cooked. I’m not mad.”

As the influencer can be heard yelling and screaming to get her point across, she said: “I’m not mad. You’re mad! Because you’re not doing anything and you think it’s normal. To me right now, this is normal behavior. You’re not acting normal.”

“You can just be quiet about all this, you’re crazy! You must be losing your mind. In fact, if you don’t want to lose your mind, I urge you to unfollow me and block me. Because you’re a psychopath and I don’t want to be around people,” she concluded.

America said that Israel should take every possible precaution to protect civilians

A resident admitted to a Kuwaiti hospital in Rafah told Al Jazeera that after the attack “the tents were melting and people’s bodies were melting too.”

According to a spokeswoman for the United States National Security Council, images of the situation were worrying.

Stressing that Israel has the right to attack Hamas, the spokesperson told NBC News that “We are aware that this strike killed two senior Hamas militants who were responsible for attacks against Israeli civilians. But as we have made clear, Israel must take every precaution to protect civilians.”

Netanyahu has faced criticism from Israel over the way the war, which began with a Hamas-led offensive on October 7, has been handled. According to officials, more than 1,200 people have been killed and 250 others taken hostage, and 125 people are believed to still be held captive in Gaza.

So far, nearly 35,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, according to Gaza health officials.
