Drivers be careful! From Monday, you can get a fine of up to Rs 11,000 in Delhi

Date:

New Delhi. Drivers who travel to and from Delhi daily from Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Gurugram should be careful now. From Monday, if your car or any other vehicle does not have a High Security Registration Plate, you may have to pay a heavy fine. Delhi Transport Department and Traffic Police are going to start a campaign against those driving without HSRP in the whole of Delhi from Monday. In this campaign, a challan of Rs 5500 to Rs 11000 will be deducted.

This campaign was stopped in view of the Lok Sabha elections 2024. But, once again from Monday, strict action will be taken against vehicles without high security number plates on the roads. Many teams of Delhi Transport Department will hit the roads from tomorrow. Along with Delhi, the enforcement team of the Transport Department will start challaning vehicles without high security number plates in Ghaziabad, Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram and Faridabad.

Now a challan of 11 thousand rupees will be deducted in Delhi
According to the Transport Department, apart from HSRP, fuel colour code stickers are also applied. If your vehicle is petrol and CNG, then a blue colour sticker code will be applied. If your vehicle is diesel, then a brown colour sticker code is applied and if your vehicle is electric, then a green colour sticker code is applied. If the vehicle does not have HSRP, then a challan of Rs 5500 can be deducted and if there is no colour code sticker, then another challan of Rs 5500 can be deducted. A total of Rs 11,000 will be deducted from your account.

In such a situation, if you have not yet installed HSRP in your vehicles, then install it immediately, otherwise you may have to pay a fine of up to 11 thousand rupees. HSRP is an aluminum made number plate, which is installed on the front and rear of the vehicle. There is a blue chromium based Ashok Chakra hologram on the upper left corner of HSRP. A unique laser branded 10 digit identification number is given on its lower left corner. Modi government has brought HSRP in view of theft and illegal trade of vehicles.

However, HSRP number is provided by the dealer at the time of purchasing a new vehicle. In Delhi-NCR, a charge of Rs 400 is taken for two-wheelers and Rs 1100 for four-wheelers. However, these prices may vary in different states of the country. You can also get a high-security number plate installed by booking online from home. For this, you can book the number plate on and off.
