Moca launched EPL
It is worth mentioning that Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu on Thursday launched the Electronic Personal License (EPL) for the pilots. This achievement of DGCA is being seen as an important initiative to make the Indian Civil Aviation Sector modern, safe and effectiveness.

Also, after getting approval from the International Civil Aviation Organizing (ICAO), India has become the second country in the world, which has succeeded in developing EPL technology. Earlier, China was the only country that developed EPL. After the arrival of EPL, Indian pilots will be given electronic license instead of cards’ Lanses.

Licenses will be replaced in this way
According to Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, about 20,000 pilots will be required in the future given the unprecedented growth of India’s aviation sector. Pilots are the backbone of Civil Aviation. Through EGCA and EPL, we are increasing the global employability of pilots through advanced and technical solutions. Also, access to real time is ensuring access to security operations.

It is worth mentioning that DGCA used to issue licenses to the pilots as smart cards till now and so far 62,000 card licenses have been issued. In 2024, around 20,000 licenses are expected to be issued. The need for printed cards with the launch of EPL will be reduced in a phased manner, making the licensing process very easy.
