The accused was also wanted by Kota Police in another case related to fake documents.

The Kota city police have arrested an accused in the alleged Delhi Police recruitment exam scam who was absconding for two years, a police official said. The accused was also wanted by the Kota police in another case related to fake documents.

Kota City SP Amrita Duhan said that Akhilesh Kumar Singh (32), a resident of Jamui district of Bihar and currently living in Rohini, Delhi, was arrested from Jind district of Haryana on Saturday in a fake documents case. He said that Akhilesh is one of the accused in the Delhi Police recruitment exam scam.

Police said that Akhilesh had rented the premises of M/s Om Kothari Foundation in Kota to conduct an online exam in 2020. The accused, in connivance with a local man named Himanshu Rathore, allegedly forged the signature of an official of the institute and prepared the necessary ownership documents and got it allotted as an online exam centre for the Delhi Police recruitment exam.

The scam came to light in 2022 and a case was registered by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police.

SP City said that during the investigation it was found that the computers of some candidates at the examination center in Kota were connected online with the gang members sitting in Delhi, who used to solve the entire paper from there. He said that Delhi Police has already arrested many people in connection with this alleged scam.
