IGI Airport News: Having crossed the borders of five countries, he was standing at the threshold of his destination. Now the destination was just a few steps away from him. But then, the immigration officer’s attention was drawn to a note written on the passport. As soon as he looked at this article carefully, the officer started smelling a conspiracy. Therefore, he decided to send this young man to the place from where he had started his journey.

At the same time, this entire matter came to light after this young man was detained at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. Actually, a young man who had recently returned from Panama reached the Bureau of Immigration counter of IGI Airport for document scrutiny. In the passport held by this young man, his name was Vikramjeet Multani, age 22 years and address was recorded as Jagadhri, Yamunanagar (Haryana).

Committed a big crime in his desire to become rich
There was a huge difference between the age of this young man standing in front of the immigration officer and the age recorded in the passport. Therefore, interrogation of the young man was started on the basis of suspicion. Soon the truth came out in front of everyone. During interrogation, it was revealed that the real name of the youth was Gurvinder Pal Singh, age 27 and the address was registered as Jagadhri, Yamunanagar (Haryana). After this revelation, the young man was handed over to the airport police for further action.

According to IGI Airport DCP Usha Ranganani, an FIR was registered against Gurvinder under various sections of the Indian Justice Code and he was arrested. During interrogation, he revealed that many people of his village had gone abroad to earn money. Seeing these people, he also decided to go abroad for better livelihood. One of his friends helped him to fulfill his objective.

The deal was finalized till Panama for ₹25 lakh
One of his friends introduced him to an agent named Avtar Singh, who promised to send him to America via Panama in exchange for Rs 25 lakh. After the deal was finalized, in January 2024, Agent Avtar Singh took his passport and arranged for visas for different countries. Avtar Singh took him to Spain via Qatar and France. At the same time, after reaching Spain, Gurvinder Singh lost his passport.

Avtar Singh arranged for a new passport for him. This passport was issued in the name of Vikramjit Multani. With the help of this passport he first went to Brazil and then to Colombia. In October 2024, Avtar Singh tried to get him illegally admitted to Panama. While crossing the border, Gurvinder Singh was caught by the Panamanian authorities and sent back to India.

The master mind of the whole matter was caught
After Gurvinder Singh’s revelations, a team was formed under the leadership of IGI Airport SHO Sushil Goyal to arrest Agent Avtar Singh. Sub Inspector Gautam Sagar and Constable Bharat Lal were also included in this team. After a long exercise, the airport police team arrested the accused agent Avtar Singh in Kurukshetra (Haryana), Ismailabad and sent him behind the bars.
