Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Congress leader KC Venugopal on Friday alleged that India Bloc partner, Communist Party of India (Marxist) had a “clear understanding with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)”.

Commenting on the reported discussion between LDF convenor EP Jayarajan and BJP leader Prakash Javadekar, KC Venugopal said, “The two met and discussed for a long time. This is shocking news. Jayarajan also admitted that Javadekar came and met him. BJP’s Kerala in-charge Prakash Javadekar is saying that this was a personal meeting. How can this be possible? There is a clear agreement between BJP and CPM.”
Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) chief K. Sudhakaran and the United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate from Kannur Lok Sabha constituency made serious allegations against Left Democratic Front (LDF) convenor EP Jayarajan and said he was on the verge of joining. BJP after the meeting.
Sudhakaran claimed in a media briefing that BJP leaders Rajiv Chandrashekhar and Shobha Surendran also attended the meeting, which reportedly took place in the Gulf.

“The discussion was at bay. Right now it is not possible to say when the discussion took place. All I know is that there was talk of governorship. Rajeev Chandrashekhar and others participated in the discussion. EP is angry with MV Govindan becoming the secretary. He was disappointed when he did not get the post of state secretary,” the Congress leader said.
Sudhakaran further claimed that after the meeting with NDA leaders, CPI(M) leader EP Jayarajan was threatened by his party, which forced him to stay with the CPI(M) and not switch sides.

‘PM is nervous’
KC Venugopal cast his vote. He is contesting against CPI(M)’s AM Arif and BJP’s Shobha Surendran. Speaking to reporters, Venugopal expressed confidence in his prospects.
“I am confident that the people of Alleppey will stand with me. PM is nervous after the first phase of Lok Sabha elections. I thank the PM for bringing the Congress manifesto into the public domain in a big way. In Kerala, UDF will win all 20 seats, people of Wayanad, Kerala will show that they are with Rahul Gandhi.”
Voting is going on in all the 20 Lok Sabha seats of Kerala during the second phase of elections.
In the 2019 elections, the Congress party won 19 out of 20 seats, while the CPI-M won just one seat. BJP did not get any seat in Kerala.
