Congress Working Committee members have passed a resolution demanding that Rahul Gandhi be appointed the party’s leader in Lok Sabha. The demand was made unanimously a few days after the senior politician won Wayanad and Rae Bareli seats.
KC Venugopal told the media, “All the participants unanimously passed the resolution that Rahul Gandhi should take over the post of Leader of Opposition in Parliament. Rahul ji is the most suitable person to lead this campaign inside the Parliament.”
Congress leader Ajay Rai said, “We are working on why we got less seats in some states. Their claim of ‘Congress Mukt’ has failed and the country has now become ‘Congress-filled’ again.”
The nomination will be placed at a meeting of 232 MPs of the Congress-led opposition alliance on Saturday.
