According to Raj Bhavan, the reorganisation comes on the day Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot gave permission to prosecute Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in connection with the alleged MUDA scam.
In response, Siddaramaiah said that he has the full support of the state cabinet.
He told reporters on Saturday, “The entire cabinet, the party high command, all MLAs, MLCs, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs are with me…”
The Karnataka government has expressed its intention to challenge the governor’s decision in the High Court. Siddaramaiah has said that “everything was done as per the law.”
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar today said the state government will put in all its efforts in support of Siddaramaiah.
The complaint accuses Siddaramaiah, his wife Parvathi, his brother-in-law Malikarjuna Swamy Devaraj, who claims to be the owner of the land, and his family of wrongdoing. It is further alleged that MUDA created fake documents and acquired plots worth crores of rupees. Snehamayi Krishna has raised several questions in her complaint.
