As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) steps up its attack against the Congress for rejecting the invitation to the Ram Temple consecration ceremony on January 22, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge dismissed the BJP’s “conspiracy” and confirmed that The party has already made its stand clear and the decision was taken to reject the BJP/RSS event, which was aimed at gaining political mileage ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Mallikarjun Kharge said that those who have faith in Lord Ram can come to Ayodhya anytime.
Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leaders Sonia Gandhi and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury announced their decision not to attend the Ram temple event. This decision created a major political controversy as the BJP accused the Congress of being anti-Hindu. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that he should not have been invited in the first place.
The BJP continued its attack against Congress leaders on social media as the party shared visuals of Rahul Gandhi visiting Babar’s tomb in Kabul in 2005. The ruling party has claimed that Congress hates only Hindus.
‘How is the date decided?’ Congress asks
Congress hit back at BJP for using the Ram Mandir program for political gains ahead of the Lok Sabha elections and questioned the timing of the programme. Congress leaders asked about the basis behind the selection of dates for the inauguration ceremony and claimed that the dates were selected keeping the elections in mind.
“The first question is, does one go to God’s temple after invitation? Be it a temple, a church or a mosque, will we wait for the invitation? Who will decide on what date and what class of people will go? Will any political party go and decide? We want to know how its date was decided. The date has not been chosen, the date has been decided after watching the elections,” said Congress leader Pawan Kheda.
Apart from this, Congress also asked why BJP is not questioning those Shankaracharyas who will not attend the event.
Shankaracharya Swami Bharati Teerthaj of Sringeri Peeth and Shankaracharya Swami Sadanand Saraswati of Dwarka Peeth welcomed the inauguration of the Ram temple on January 22, but will not attend the event, while Shankaracharya Nischalananda Saraswati of Puri said he will not attend the event. Must be because they are aware of it. Post.
“The Prime Minister of the country will be in the sanctum sanctorum, touch the idol and perform the consecration ceremony. This has been given a political colour, if the consecration of Lord Ram is to be done then it should be in accordance with this.” Nischalananda said, “I will not oppose it, nor take part in it. I have taken my stand. Do not mix half truth and half lie; everything must be in accordance with scriptural knowledge.”
