Actor Bhumika Meena revisits her alma mater Safdarjung in Delhi. She shares how she discovered her true “calling” in acting during her college days.
On the way from the airport to the hotel, I saw the board of Safdarjung Hospital, and like a little girl I said, ‘Oh my God, my college’,” recalls actor Bhumika Meena. Soon all of her #Campuskedin Running away from memories, and chasing MBBS in DAYS DEEND.
During a recent visit to the capital, the actor, who is also a qualified doctor, shares, “I first saw College Board back in 2012, when my parents came to drop me off at the hostel,” says Meena. Which has appeared in. films Chuhdaani (2022) and Dukaan (2024) and most recently in the OTT series Chidiya Ud.
Given that this was her first “proper” visit to her alma mater, having graduated in 2018, she was reliably “overwhelmed” seeing everything from the stairwell to the library and “loved the seniors and juniors.” ” was receiving equally. “Back in the day, I was the class representative of my batch and was involved in organizing international conferences, college fests, etc… I am still in touch with my professors. Just recently, one of them messaged me to congratulate me after seeing my work on OTT,” says the 27-year-old.
Born and brought up in Rajasthan, to parents who are also doctors, she definitely had to “gather the courage” to seek the approval of her elders when she decided to pursue acting professionally. “It was one of the most challenging things. I had to overcome the need for validation by my parents,” recalls Meena, getting emotional. “Life really happened when I was in medical college; School was about studies or competitions… In college, I met people with whom I shared deep friendships. Today, they are the same friends who tease me, ‘Tu toh star ban gayi’ (smiling),” says Meena, “The truth is, I found my calling when I was in medical college in Delhi. ,
