Certificate Program in Design Thinking and Innovation from IITD: Design solutions for real-world needs

Date:

In the global business world, in the absence of a user-centric approach, it is a challenge to implement creative and innovative approaches in design, technology, and business. This is where design thinking comes into play. Design thinking is a human-centric and step-by-step approach to problem-solving, which is crucial for creating innovative solutions in business, organizations, and society. With the integration of generative AI, it now offers advanced idea generation, enhanced creativity, and rapid prototyping, allowing for faster creation of design variations and strengthening the design process overall.

Design thinking fosters innovation by prioritizing empathy, creativity, and user-centered solutions to real-world challenges.

About IITD

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is one of the 5 initial IITs established in India for training, research and development in science, engineering and technology. Established in 1961 as the College of Engineering, the institute was later declared an institute of national importance under the “Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 1963” and renamed as “Indian Institute of Technology Delhi”.

Subsequently it was given the status of a deemed university, with powers to decide its own academic policy, conduct its own examinations and award its own degrees. Since its inception, more than 48000 students have graduated from IIT Delhi in various disciplines including engineering, physical sciences, management and humanities and social sciences. About 5070 of these obtained PhD degrees. The rest obtained master’s degrees in engineering, science and business administration. These alumni today work as scientists, technologists, business managers and entrepreneurs. There are many alumni who have moved away from their original disciplines and have gone into administrative services, active politics or are associated with NGOs. By doing so they have contributed significantly to the building of this nation and industrialization across the world.
