Celebrity nutritionist Ruzuta Divkar says that festive dessert does not require makeover like Modak; People urge them to leave the phad and enjoy them in a traditional way.

Why traditional modaks are really healthy

In his Ogsut 29 Instagram Post, Ruzuta, who is known to focus on traditional Indian foods, took a refreshing on Modak. He reminded everyone that there is no need to be ‘reinvolen’ to be called the festive sweets healthy. “Modaks are already healthy,” he wrote, clarifying that their nutritional value comes from a lot of materials that our grandmother has always used.

He further explained how the so -called ‘healthy’ options often harm more than the best. Ruzuta said, “They are not healthy because you replaced jaggery with stevia, rice flour with ragi, or coco chips and coconut with coco chips and Moringa,” Ruzuta said, saying that these swaps are more about trends than real health benefits. According to him, not only such alternatives change the authentic taste of modak, but they also make the sweet unnecessarily complicated.

Ended on a sharp note, he said, “They only get pricier and yucky.” With this, Rujuta reminded his followers that true health lies in embracing our time-tested dishes and enjoying festive foods rather than running after expensive, craze.
