Delhi’s chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday congratulated all the students and teachers of Delhi government schools for their “brilliant results” in the CBSE Class 12 board exams.

He said, “Not only is this ahead of our own performance last year, but it is also ahead of the CBSE national average… Congratulations to all the students, teachers, parents and the entire education department for this excellent performance.”

Sharing data on last year’s performance of Delhi government schools, the Chief Minister said that in 2022-23, Delhi government-run schools recorded a pass percentage of 91.59 per cent.
Arvind Kejriwal also mentioned that the performance of Delhi government schools in CBSE Class 12 results for 2023-24 is above the national average of 87.98 per cent.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday announced the class 10 and 12 board exam results.
Girls continued to outperform boys in both classes 10 and 12 in the CBSE board exams, while the pass percentage and the number of students scoring above 90 and 95 percent marks saw a marginal increase compared to last year.
The pass percentage in class 10th was 93.60, which is 0.48 percentage points higher than last year. The pass percentage in Class 12 examination stood at 87.98 with a marginal increase of 0.65 percentage points compared to last year.
According to PTICBSE officials attributed the increase in the passing percentage to the increase in the number of aptitude-based questions in the exam this year.
In Class 12, a total of 1.16 lakh students scored above 90 per cent and 24,068 scored above 95 per cent. Last year, 1.12 lakh students had scored above 90 per cent and 22,622 students had scored above 95 per cent.
