A vaccine will be available in five to six months to fight cancer affecting women, and people between the age group of nine to 16 will be eligible for vaccination, Union Minister Pratapro Jadhav said on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference at Health, Family Welfare and Ayush (Independent Charge) Minister of State for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, he said that research on a vaccine is almost complete and testing is going on.
“The number of cancer patients in the country has increased, and the central government has taken steps to address the issue. Women of more than 30 will go through screening in hospitals, and decare cancer centers to detect the disease. Will be installed, “Jadhav said. ,
He said that the government has also waived customs duty for medicines used in the treatment of cancer.
The minister said, “Research on a vaccine for cancer affecting women is almost complete, and testing is going on. It will be available in five to six months, and girls in the age group of nine to 16 years will be available. Will be eligible.
When asked about cancer, we will deal with the vaccine, Jadhav said that breast, oral and cervical cancer.
Asked about converting existing health centers into AYUSH facilities, Jadhav said that hospitals have AYUSH departments, and people can avail these facilities.
He said that there are 12,500 such health facilities in the country, and the government is increasing them.
