BYD Seal is getting positive response from customers in the Indian market. The company has announced that BYD Seal has received bookings for 500 units within just 15 days of its launch. This electric sedan was launched in the Indian market on March 5, 2024.
BYD has introduced the Seal in three variants, which include Dynamic, Premium and Performance. It has the option of two battery packs, which are claimed to provide a maximum range of 650 kilometers per charge. The ex-showroom price of this electric sedan starts from Rs 41 lakh to Rs 53 lakh. Customers can choose from four exterior paint schemes including Arctic Blue, Aurora White, Atlantis Gray and Cosmos Black.

Speaking on the occasion of this achievement, Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President, Electric Passenger Vehicle Business, BYD India, said, “We are confident in our product and our pricing and are delighted to see the response it has received in the market. We touched the 200 booking mark soon after the launch and within 15 days, we have recorded 500 bookings. This data shows that Indian customers are eager for competitive pricing and stylish solutions for sustainable motoring. We already see a premium electric MPV with the new e6 and an electric-born E-SUV with the BYD Atto 3. The latest BYD SEAL further expands our portfolio in India with an electric sports sedan that is extremely stylish and luxurious.
With whom is there competition?
BYD Seal is a premium electric sedan, which competes with electric cars like Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 in terms of price and features. This electric car has a trademark rotating 15.6 inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, 12-speaker audio system and sport seats. Apart from this, the Seal gets front storage space and 400 liters of boot space at the rear. BYD India currently has cars like Atto 3 SUV and e6 MPV.
