New Delhi. The discount offers given during Navratri and Dussehra are now over, but many automobile companies have extended their festival offers till Diwali. Additionally, additional discounts are also being given on stock clearance models available with some dealers. Hyundai’s electric car Kona EV is also included in this list, on which benefits of up to Rs 2 lakh are available.
Hyundai has removed Kona EV from its website and is now selling only Hyundai Ioniq 5 in this segment. However, Kona EV stock is still available with many dealers and heavy discounts are being given to clear it. The starting price of this car is Rs 23.84 lakh (ex-showroom).
Kona EV sales decline
Hyundai Kona EV is considered to be the company’s first electric model in the Indian market, which was launched in 2019. However, no major updates have been made in it since then and its sales have been declining for the last few months. Even despite huge discounts, there was no improvement in its sales. According to reports, the company is preparing to launch Creta EV soon, due to which the sale of Kona EV is being stopped.
Features of the new Kona EV
The new Hyundai Kona EV will be offered with two battery pack options of 48.4 kWh and 65.4 kWh. The company claims that this car will give a WLTP range of 490 kilometers once fully charged. The EV crossover will be launched in standard and long range models. It will have modern features like 12.3-inch dual-screen dashboard, ADAS, LED lighting and electronic gear selector.
Its front has a wraparound light bar and pixel graphics exterior, sharp lines and split LED headlamps like the Ioniq 5. The length of the car is 4,355 mm, which is 150 mm more than the old Kona EV, while the wheelbase has been extended by 25 mm.
Safety and Technology
Hyundai Kona EV has been provided with advanced safety features like ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), Blind-spot Collision Avoidance Assist, High Beam Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and Forward Collision Avoidance Assist. Apart from this, the car also has premium features like Bose’s 8-speaker sound system, keyless entry, OTA updates, heads-up display, connected car technology and power tail gate.
