The legal dispute between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie over their French winery, Chateau Miraval, has gotten even more complicated. Pitt has strongly opposed Jolie’s latest request, calling it a blatant violation of privacy. Reportedly, the actress’ team is demanding access to Pitt’s private communications about the infamous 2016 plane incident, which allegedly played a role in their divorce. However, the Moneyball actor’s lawyers are strongly opposing this, calling the request a “sensationalist fishing expedition” that is irrelevant to the winery dispute.
Brad Pitt refuses to share personal message about plane crash
Brangelina’s high-profile divorce talks have inched closer to resolution and have now taken another bitter turn. Pitt has formally filed a motion to dismiss Jolie’s request for disclosure of private conversations. These conversations include details about a 2016 family plane trip during which it is alleged that Pitt assaulted his then-wife and children. The submission has been made in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
Pitt’s legal team has strongly opposed this request, calling it an intrusive overreach. They claim that Pitt had previously offered to provide documents detailing the plane ride, but Jolie rejected this agreement in favor of viewing her private communications with third parties about the incident. The alleged communications “include sensitive issues such as the therapy she voluntarily underwent to better herself after the flight incident, the ‘drug and alcohol testing’ she allegedly underwent, her alleged ‘overuse or abuse of alcohol,’ and other post-flight actions,” the court filing reads, according to People.

The Babylon actor was accused of “attempted assault” for allegedly grabbing Jolie’s hair, shaking her repeatedly and pushing her hard into a bathroom wall. The incident reportedly took place in front of their children. In addition, Pitt was also accused of using violence towards his children during the confrontation.
‘Private, third-party communications irrelevant’
In April, Jolie submitted a request regarding a non-disclosure agreement, which her team claims Pitt demanded as a condition of purchasing her Miraval shares. In addition, her legal team has alleged that Pitt has continually tried to control her, exploit her financially, and hide his history of abuse and control.

In response, Pitt’s legal counsel argued that the actress’ request for “private, third-party communications” from that period should not be considered relevant to the dispute. “If Jolie’s requests were truly about ‘what happened on that plane,’ as she claims, then Pitt’s offer should have been sufficient,” the filing reads.
“However, Jolie wants them as part of her efforts to have this business dispute re-litigated in the former couple’s divorce case.”
