home remedies for swelling
According to IG Bio, dietician Tamanna Dayal has suggested a simple home remedy that easily treats winter swelling. This homemade drink is prepared with regular, everyday ingredients, which also makes it cost-effective. He advised boiling ½ tsp cumin and ½ tsp ajwain in a cup of water. Filter it in a glass, add a pinch of rock salt to it and squeeze half a lemon. The dietitian advised to drink it twice a day.
What’s in the Ingredients?
Simple ingredients found in every kitchen like cumin (cumin), ajwain (carom seeds) and lemon juice play an important role in aiding digestion. Cumin and oregano are staples in almost every Indian spice box.
In an earlier interview with experts, cumin was highlighted for its excellent digestive properties. “It contains a compound called ‘thymol’, which stimulates digestion,” says dietician Bhakti Samant. Click here to read more about cumin water.
Similarly, thymol is also present in celery, which helps in easy digestion. No wonder, almost every restaurant serves celery after the meal. On the other hand, lemon juice contains citric acid, which promotes the secretion of stomach juices, aids in the breakdown of food and improves digestion.
