Patna Airport Latest Update: A new and big update has come about Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport in Patna. This new update may disappoint the passenger and passenger traveling from Patna Airport. In fact, agencies associated with the Expensation Work of Patna Airport have accepted that the terminal conversion work may take time to complete. Therefore, passengers traveling from Patna Airport will have to travel from the old terminal for the next few months to come.

Here, let us tell you that the work of Expensation and Makeover of Patna Airport is being done at a cost of about Rs 1400 crore. Under the current plan, air traffic service building was also to be constructed with expansion of terminal building at Patna Airport. In addition, parallel tracks, cargo complexes, parking buildings and G Plus One Building were to be constructed on airside. In December 2024, the Airport Athority of India (AAI) Chairman Vipin Kumar, after visiting Patna Airport, assured that all other works including terminal expansion, makeover would be completed by January 2025.

This work has been completed at Patna Airport
According to the Senior AAI Officer associated with the plans of Patna Airport, about 90 percent of the release work has been completed in the current Patna Airport. The work that has been completed so far, along with the expansion of the terminal building, the construction of air traffic service (ATS) building, parallel tracxi-way, cargo complex, parking building, Zee Plus One Building has been completed 100 percent. Apart from this, the work of Terminal’s Bhatar Dormitory and Immigration Counter has also been completed. The remaining work will also be completed soon.

Delay is due to these works
The Senior Officer of ASI said that the work is to be completed mainly at Patna Airport, including Aerobridge and aircraft parking work. To complete both the works, all the teams of the concerned agencies including AAI are working at the war level. He said that after completion of the work of aerobridge and parking facility, the process of testing and certification of facilities will be completed including check-in area, in line baggage system, immigration counter and aerobridge. This entire process may take a few months time.
