A viral video that has a viral video to a senior female professor for a student in a class at Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (Makaut) in West Bengal has created a stir by a viral video, making the university orders an inquiry on Wednesday. .
The incident took place in the Psychology Department of the university located in Hringhata in Nadia district.
In the video, the professor dressed as a bride, and a first year student performed various traditional Bengali Hindu wedding rituals, including ‘Sindoor Dan’ (applying Vermilian) and ‘Mala Bodol’ (exchange), Within all, all include, class settings.
The video quickly went viral, portraying widespread criticism and resentment on social media.

In his defense, the professor said the incident was part of a psycho-drama performance that was used to convince the concepts in his classroom. He claimed that it was not a real marriage but an academic practice. He also said that the video was for internal use and “leaked” without his consent, which he believed that the psychology department was done to tarnish the reputation.
Despite his explanation, the university asked the professor to take leave until the investigation is completed. Additionally, the student involved in the incident has been instructed not to participate in classes until the investigation is over.
Commenting on the situation, Tapas Chakraborty, the executive vice -chancellor of the university, said, “The professor said that the incident was part of a demonstration related to his subject, and there was no unfair conduct.” The video was not for external movement. However, given the dispute around the incident, we have asked him to go on leave until the committee submits its report. ,
Chakraborty said that the student has been asked not to join classes until the investigation is over.
