It seems that the Nokia Android phone is now counting its last breaths. It will now be impossible to buy this handset in India. Know why this is happening?

Nokia handset manufacturing company removed Nokia smartphones from its website and put them in a section

New Delhi. Microsoft purchased Nokia’s smartphone division and then shut it down after Windows Phone was discontinued. After this, some former Nokia executives created HMD to sell Android-based Nokia phones. Now, HMD may also break its ties with Nokia-branded smartphones. Nokia-branded phones, including the Nokia XR21 due to be released in mid-2023, are listed as ‘no longer available’ on HMD’s website.

HMD’s own lineup of Android smartphones is still available on the company’s website, including the Arc, Aura, Key, Fusion, Skyline, and Pulse, but its Nokia-branded devices were moved to a page dedicated to legacy devices Is. An interesting thing is that HMD continues to sell the ‘discontinued’ Nokia XR21 under the new name HMD XR21.

Will Nokia phones not be visible?
HMD (formerly known as HMD Global) was the only company that had the rights to manufacture Nokia-branded smartphones. However, this doesn’t mean that we’ll never see a Nokia-branded phone; It seems that HMD now uses the Nokia brand name only for low-cost feature phones that resemble Nokia’s biggest hits from the 1990s.

Nokia’s condition deteriorated after the arrival of Apple’s phone
Inexpensive Nokia devices released between 2003 and 2005 performed exceptionally well in developing countries, making the popular Nokia 1100 and Nokia 1110 the best-selling phones to date (as of 2023). This was the time when Nokia was at the forefront as a major phone manufacturer. Things started going bad for the Finnish company when Apple released the first iPhone in 2007.

The move suggests that HMD has changed its licensing agreement, which allows it to sell devices under the Nokia name, so that it can continue selling Nokia-branded feature phones. However, he will sell the smartphone under his own name only. It’s also possible that the Nokia brand has lost some of its popularity over time and it makes more sense for HMD to create its own identity.
