A team of researchers from several American universities found that consuming two daily servings of grapes led to significant changes in muscle -related gene expression. While both men and women showed genetic changes, the effects were particularly notable in women, whose gene activity was commonly similar to the pattern seen in men.

The change occurred at the genetic level, where researchers identified 25 major genes affected by grape consumption. Some genes associated with lean muscle growth became more active, while others associated with the muscle degeneration showed less expression.
