Shoes can trigger bunion pain. The expert explained what the shoe options can help in reducing the bionian pain.

Can shoes trigger bunion pain?

Dr. Asis Acharya said, “Some types of footwear can increase the pain.”

  • High heels put more pressure from the front and therefore increased tension on Banian.
  • Flats without support can thus balance the toes on the toes by furthering the symptoms of the condition.

Footwear option: “Wear shoes with wide foot boxes to squeeze. Opt for low heel shoes (less than 2 inches) to reduce loading effectively. Choose shoes with cushioning and arc support for stability, ”Dr. Asis Acharya explained.
