Visitors Guide of Maha Kumbh Mela.
This year, Mahakumbh is going to start in Prayagraj from Monday, 13th January. Maha Kumbh is organized once every 12 years and Ardh Kumbh is organized every 6 years. According to the Hindu calendar, the first bath of the Kumbh Mela is on the day of Pausha Purnima and the last royal bath will be on the day of Mahashivratri. Lakhs of people come from across the country and abroad to participate in the Kumbh Mela. The stream of religion and spirituality flows in the Kumbh held on the banks of Ganga and Yamuna in Tirtharaj Prayag, in which everyone becomes fortunate by taking a dip of faith. By bathing and donating during Kumbh, one’s sins are erased and one attains infinite virtues. The path to salvation opens by touching the Ganga of spirituality.

What to do
1. For information on VIP movement, accommodation, major event dates etc. kumbh.gov.in Visit its website or download the mobile app.
2. Taking care of your health, consult a doctor. Travel light and carry medicines with you.
3. Be aware of nearby facilities like hospitals, restaurants and emergency services etc.
4. Keep all emergency contact numbers in your phone.
5. Use only those bathing areas or ghats which have been authorized by the fair administration for bathing.
6. You should use the toilets and urinals available in the fair area.
7. Do not throw garbage anywhere. Use dustbin.
8. Use the signage or boards available there to find your way.
9. Follow traffic rules and park vehicles only at parking spaces.
10. Report any unknown or suspicious object to the police or fair administration.
11. Follow the rules and instructions given there.
12. Cooperate with the departments involved in organizing the fair.
13. Protect your belongings yourself. If you lose a loved one or your belongings, go to lost and found centers and seek help.
14. If you plan to visit somewhere in or around the fair area, take adequate time.

what not to do
1. Do not take any valuables, excess food or excess clothes to the fair.
2. Don’t trust strangers. Be careful while eating food at unauthorized places.
3. Stay away from debate.
4. Do not go into the river beyond the prescribed limit, there will be a risk of drowning.
5. Do not use soap, detergent etc. while bathing. Do not wash clothes. Do not throw puja material into the river.
6. Do not use plastic bags anywhere.
7. Do not defecate or urinate in the open.
8. If you have any infectious disease, do not go to crowded places.
