AP Dhillon made the Mumbai atmosphere more entertaining by adding a unique touch with the 360 degree stage at MMRDA Ground on Saturday.
Mumbaikars experienced ‘summer high’ in December when Indo-Canadian rapper-singer AP Dhillon performed in the city on Saturday night. Thousands of fans gathered at the MMRDA grounds in Bandra Kurla Complex, where the singer enthralled them with his many hit songs including Excuse, Brown Munde, With You and Dil Nu. Dhillon and his partner Shinda Kahlon also sang songs like Bora Bora and Old Money from their recently released EP.
The crowd went wild more than once when Dhillon entered the crowd. The rapper-singer is currently in India as part of his The Brownprint 2024 India Tour. The event also saw performances from singers like Nikita Gandhi and Wahzir in the Hood. Actor-model-entrepreneur Malaika Arora was also seen in the audience. It was a fan moment for Dhillon when he invited him on stage.
A major highlight of the event was the 360-degree stage, which allowed Dhillon’s fans to interact with him at the venue.
Speaking to HT City recently, Dhillon said that performing in India was an overwhelming experience: “It’s surreal to be headlining in arenas where I had only ever dreamed of performing. The most special thing is the real connection with the audience – they connect with the stories of my music on a deeper level. To hear how a song has impacted someone’s life, especially in my homeland, is incredibly moving. I try to stay grounded by remembering my roots.”
When asked if he has any plans to explore opportunities in Bollywood, the 31-year-old actor, who hails from Gurdaspur (Punjab), said, “I respect Bollywood and what it is doing for music, but right now, That’s what I’m focused on.” Creating your own sound, telling stories your own way. But if something organic comes along, where I can stay true to my style, why not? However, I will not compromise my artistic vision just to fit into a certain mold.
