Jon Voight criticized his daughter Angelina Jolie in a scathing interview with Variety on Tuesday. Jon, 85, criticized the Maleficent star’s pro-Palestinian stance, claiming she is “influenced by anti-Semites.” The Hollywood veteran also made clear his support for right-wing politics and praised Donald Trump throughout the interview.

Voight is known for staying true to his emotions, not even sparing his own family. He condemned Jolie’s stance on the Israel-Hamas war. “She’s been exposed to propaganda,” he said of his once-estranged daughter. “She’s been influenced by anti-Semites. Angie has ties to the U.N., and she loves speaking out for refugees. But these people are not refugees,” the Deliverance star added.

In the interview on Tuesday, he made clear his love for Jolie, but he blamed the United Nations for his daughter’s “anti-Semitic” stance. “I love my daughter. I don’t want to fight my daughter. But the truth is, I think she’s influenced by the United Nations. From the very beginning, it’s been very bad with human rights. They call it human rights, but it’s just an anti-Israel attack,” the National Treasure star said.
He added, “She’s unaware of what the real stakes are and what the real story is, because she’s in contact with the United Nations.” He argued that Jolie’s views, like everything else, are a result of ignorance. “It’s like why these kids in universities are siding with Hamas, isn’t it? It’s because of ignorance. They don’t know the story,” Voight said.
Jon Voight expresses support for Donald Trump
Voight described himself as “Hollywood’s most vocal Trump supporter.” Throughout the interview, he made clear his unwavering support for the Republican Party. The Ray Donovan star recalled his first meeting with the GOP candidate decades ago. “It was at a party in New York in the 1990s,” he said of Trump, adding, “He came from all the way across the room and told me how much he liked one of my movies. I was very touched.”

“I’ve been one of the most vocal supporters of Donald Trump in Hollywood,” he said, adding, “I’ve been saying he’s the answer, the only answer.” The actor concluded, referring to himself in the third person, “Now, after this, maybe they’ll look at Jon Voight in a different light. If Donald Trump is being exposed like this, maybe they’ll look at a supporter like me in a different light.”
