Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has recently launched 31 new online courses for the academic session 2024-25. These courses are scheduled to begin from July 22. Out of the 31 courses, 28 are of 12-week duration, while the rest three are of eight-week duration. The new courses launched at the university are Business Tourism, Data Science using Python, Database Management System, Geology Fundamentals, Environmental Studies, Hindi Language Comprehension, International Relations and Studies in Theatre. These courses have been carefully designed by the Department of Computer Science, Aligarh Muslim University in collaboration with the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. They are funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The university is gaining more attention because all these 31 courses are free.
This is a free course, but after its completion you will get a certificate. Aligarh Muslim University has started these courses on the Swayam portal. You will get a certificate only when you fulfill the necessary conditions-
25 percent of the given assignments must be completed. If there are 12 assignments, the best eight must be completed to receive a course completion certificate. It is important to score at least 75 percent marks in the examinations.
What is the course fee?
Students can enroll in any of the online courses launched by Aligarh Muslim University on its Swayam portal and they will not have to pay any fees for the same. These courses are free of cost.
Aligarh Muslim University is a public central university located in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. It was founded by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan in 1875 as Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College. In 1920, the college was renamed Aligarh Muslim University.
