Domestic carrier Akasa Air has started its international operations with its first overseas flight departing from Mumbai to Doha, Qatar.
In a statement on Thursday, the airline said it has been granted traffic rights to three other international destinations – Kuwait, Jeddah and Riyadh.
The statement said Akasa will rapidly expand its global footprint in the coming months.
Additionally, the airline said that with its conveniently timed flight schedule, passengers from other domestic cities like Ahmedabad, Goa, Varanasi, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Kochi and Delhi will have multiple connecting options to travel from Doha via Mumbai.
Domestically, Akasa operates from several cities including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi.
