Airport News: As usual, the Custom’s Air Intelligence Unit was X-raying the baggage of passengers coming from abroad at the airport. Meanwhile, two passengers crossing the green channel of Customs were stopped by the AIU unit for X-ray of their baggage. As soon as the officers asked them to put the baggage in the X-ray, both of them started looking at each other.
Actually, this matter is of Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. Despite being told several times, these two passengers were not ready to put their trolley bags in the X-ray. As soon as both of them picked up the bag after being strictly asked, there was a strong movement in it. Seeing the movement in the bags, the Customs AIU officers were shocked and immediately took possession of both the bags.
Malaysian monkey came out of the bag
According to a senior customs officer, in this case both the bags were taken to the AIU room for searching. As soon as both the bags were opened in the AIU room, 4 agile gibbons jumped out from inside them. There was a commotion in the terminal as soon as the Agile Gibbon was seen. After controlling the Agile Gibbon, the customs officers took both the passengers into custody.
During interrogation, it was revealed that both the passengers had come from Kuala Lumpur city of Malaysia. Since Agile Gibbons are scheduled under the Wildlife Protection Act, both these passengers were arrested. Let us tell you that Agile Gibbon is also known as Black-handed Gibbon. Gibbon is black in color and looks like a small monkey.
Why smuggling of agile gibbon?
Agile gibbon or black-handed gibbon is found mostly in Sumatra, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. The smuggling of this monkey, which lives in trees most of the time, has increased rapidly in recent times and they are being sold in the market at high prices. Some people like to keep gibbons as pets in their homes because of their playful nature. So some people use their body parts for entertainment.
