ACT Fellowship Programme: Applications open for 2024-25 session, check course details, eligibility and more

ACT is accepting applications for the third phase of its fellowship program. This initiative aims to provide early- to mid-career professionals with a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in applying venture capital principles to catalyze technology-based innovation.

The ACT Fellowship Program is a full-time and fully funded internship program that lasts for 9 months, the press release said. It is designed for individuals who want to pursue a career in social impact, make a transition to impact investing, or become social entrepreneurs, the release said.

The program, scheduled to begin in September 2024, will see participants develop a real-world understanding of venture philanthropy by working alongside leading investors and social entrepreneurs.

Each fellow will be aligned to one of ACT’s four focus areas — education and skills, public healthcare, climate action and gender equality — and will be eligible for a monthly stipend of Rs 60,000, the release said.

Fellows will be given the opportunity to work on various live projects, including sector research, deal-flow sourcing, due diligence, investment pitches, portfolio management, etc.

ACT Director Alankrita Khera said that there is a growing number of young professionals who want to turn their careers towards the impact sector. She said, “The ACT Fellowship program is specially designed for motivated individuals who are eager to bring about meaningful social change, are passionate about the role of technology and innovation, and are keen to explore the potential of venture philanthropy.”

Eligibility & Application Process:

According to the press release, the 2024-25 cohort will accept six fellows into the program.

The following are required to be eligible:

  • The applicant must be a resident Indian citizen.
  • Applicant must possess a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university in India or outside India.
  • Applicant must have a minimum of two years of full-time work experience.
  • Applicants must be willing to relocate to Mumbai, Delhi or Bengaluru for the duration of the program.

Interested candidates can apply through this Online Application Form and submit it.

Those shortlisted will be invited to a virtual case interview, followed by a personal interview with a member of ACT’s leadership team. Applications are encouraged to be made as early as possible, the press release said.

The last date for application is 13 August 2024, by 11:59 PM.
