Abhay Deol comes from a family of film stars. From his uncle Dharmendra to his cousins Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, each of them has left an impression in the industry. In an interview with Human of Bombay, the actor talked about a difficult childhood and recalled how a teacher had insulted him because he came from a privileged background.

Abhay Deol on childhood
Abhay reflected on his upbringing, describing it in some ways as a distinctive of an Indian joint family. He admitted that his family’s fame created a disconnect from the reality of an average Indian house. He explained that some of the experiences he faced was unique to be a part of a famous family-unlikely that no person would ever pass through a non-famous background.
Asked about those experiences, Abhay recalled, “When you come from a film family, a lot is written about it. Many times in school, you will be asked personal questions, like ‘We read it, we have heard that it is true?’ There were teachers who would be additional good for me because they were fans of my family, but then there were teachers who would be additional bad because they judged my family.
When a teacher insulted
Citing an example of a tuition teacher, who insulted him as he disliked his family, the actor said, “There was a teacher who would really humiliate me in class because she would not like my family. She would publicly humiliate me, will pass comments about my family, and if there was some news, she will say that she will say that in the classroom, as if you do such a child, as if you do a child. You are surprised and internal these things because you can speak as an adult.
Abhay Deol’s upcoming work
Abhay will be seen in the film Ban Tikki next time. Directed by Faraz Arif Ansari, the film also stars Shabana Azmi, Zeenat Aman and Anjali Anand. Ban Tikki is constructed by Jyoti Deshpande, Dinesh Malhotra and Marijke Desuza under the banner of Manish Malhotra’s Stage 5 Productions.
